    Data on the efficacy of the combination of simvastatin 40 mg/ezetimibe 10 mg, 1 ×/day in the treatment of AA are limited and controversial.74–77 Positive reports show hair regrowth rates and lower relapse in patients with recent onset and good prognosis for AA.74,75 The first report of the use of oral minoxidil in AA was in 1987, in monotherapy at a dose of 5 mg, twice a day, in 65 patients, including men and women.
